I spent about 14 years as a Graphic Designer and then Art Director. After a few opportunities to run various small businesses, my wife and I saw an opportunity to sell all and move to a desirable place in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and start a new business in a different field of work entirely. The work was physically demanding and I was forced to look elsewhere for work, as my body was telling me it was unsustainable for the long term. I then felt a tug to go back to the world I once knew – Marketing and Graphic Design. Now I can have my cake and eat it too – I get to live in the place I love and still am able to work for a great company “alongside of” great people (virtually, of course).
